How does it work?
While the unit (CarPlay Head unit) is inactive, the original video signal is passed unchanged and your car works as before.
After activating the CarPlay Head unit, the CarPlay unit video signal is shown on the display instead.
When you reverse the car while using the CarPlay system, the system will automatically switch to the camera without manual operation.
You can easily switch system back and forth between the unit and your original head unit.
(TIPS: Press and hold the “Menu” key to switch the system)

1 What is the factory-set password for the head unit?

3 Why is there no audio when playing music?
Regarding the problem of no sound, you need to pay attention to the following 2 points:
1. Please check if you have connected the OEM optical fiber to the new power plug.
2. You need to set the sound source to AUX in the OEM system.
If you have done the above 2 items and it still has no sound, please use another AUX cable to connect the AUX output cable of the CarPlay unit and the OEM aux plug.

The install wasn’t too bad, but the white connection that plugs into the back of the unit is pretty flimsy. The BMW screen has vertical lines on the right side.
I recieved my F30 iDrive system in a little less than 2 weeks from China to the USA, which I've never seen before. Very fast shipping. I installed the new iDrive and it works great. I wish the device would automatically activate Apple CarPlay upon starting the car. It will connect to Bluetooth automatically, but you have to select Apple CarPlay manually to get that screen open (not a big deal, it just does this for my Apple CarPlay in my factory Ford F150 XL Screen). The sound quality from the device is average but not bad (I'd reccomend buying a high quality AUX cord for installing). Other than those 2 things. Great device for a great price. Great fit. Would recommend to someone who's car is compatible to this device. It's a massive upgrade to the (cheaper) BMW Screen. (Sorry for poor quality pictures, but trust me it looks great)
I have a 2014 BMW 328i Xdrive and it fit perfectly. I just didn’t have any sound on my end because of my fiber optic problems.
Only things that caught my eye thats a lil bit irritating is that the clock resets. I know that sounds silly but I use my clock in my car often because I certain times I have to be places and I would rather look on my display screen then my phone for safety purposes.
But all-in-all, great product for the price. Highly recommend!
Huge huge HUUUGE upgrade over OEM screen, since you get added Apple Carplay and Android Auto built in. Super easy to install as everything comes plug-and-play. Touch screen responsive and really convenient to have while in Carplay/Auto mode.
I shopped around with other brands (Amazon/eBay) and even purchased another unit that costed ~50% more, but I get everything I need from the Wakaa for a fraction of the cost. I struggled a bit with having the backup camera turn off after I shifted to Park/Drive/any other mode besides Reverse, but you'll just need to make sure you select the appropriate car model in the Factory Setting section (PIN 8866). I just selected the right chassis code (F30) and ignored the year listed.
